Jena/ Germany, Milan/ Italy, March 18th, 2008 – www.biolitec.com - From 26 to 28 March 2008, the German biotech company biolitec AG introduces its innovative BPH laser therapy LIFE™ (Laser Induced Flow Enhancement) at the 23rd Annual Congress of the European Association of Urology (EAU) to the international urology trade visitors in Milan. biolitec can be found at booth number E08 in Hall 5 of the MIC - Milano Convention Centre.
The minimally invasive LIFE™ procedure using the laser Evolve™ 150 gives the possibility of an outpatient treatment under local anaesthesia, while post-treatment side effects have been reduced significantly. The laser’s high power of 150 watt leads to minimal treatment times: The ablating of the prostatic tissue in many times can take only than 15 to 30 minutes. Additionally, the Evolve™ Laser System enables minimal recovery times and reduces the risk of incontinence and impotence. Even risk patients taking blood thinners can be treated with LIFE™ therapy.
biolitec’s diode laser vaporization technology without subsequent bleeding only requires a couple of days stay in hospital, the catheter can be removed after only one day and the enuresis improves in the same time. The Evolve™ Laser System provides the highest absorption in water and haemoglobin from the same wavelength, so that vaporization as well as coagulation are possible and guarantee an efficient removal of the prostatic tissue and a successful haemostasis.
